Tone Raw is a band created in January 2012 by young Polish musicians. They play classical European jazz with loose folk references. Sounds of German, Scandinavian, Slav countries combine with the freshness of the band’s own compositions, creating a unique mix of tradition and modernity. Dynamic saxophone of Marek Konarski, lyricism and harmonic feel of the pianist Sebastian Zawadzki are supported by the solid rhythm section of Thomas Kolarczyk and Kuba Gudz. The founders of Tone Raw are multi-award winners in jazz competitions and festivals, including such events as European Jazz Contest in Rome, Novum Jazz Festival, Jazz Juniors in Cracow, Poznan Blue Note Competition, Young Nordic Jazz Comets in Helsinki, Tarnów Jazz Contest and Review of Young Jazz and Blues Groups. Being young, they have already given concerts nearly all over the world (Poland, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, the USA, Russia, the Netherlands, Italy). Their debut album, entitled Tone Raw (as the name of the band) was recorded in September 2012.
